Deatiled Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Zanzibar
Upon arrival at the international airport in Zanzibar, you will be picked up by a representative from your beach resort who will drive you to the resort. Welcome to Zanzibar.
Day 2: In Zanzibar
You will spend the second day of your safari in Zanzibar at your beach resort. Relaxing and shaking off the jet lag. Enjoy the resorts available amenities, take a walk on the beach or visit the nearest town for a stroll. Tomorrow, you fly to the wilderness of Tanzania.
Day 3: Domestic flight to Nyerere national park
Enjoy your early breakfast and after you will be transferred to Zanzibar international airport for your flight to Selous. Upon arrival at the airstrip, you will be received by your safari guide. Then embark on a game drive looking out for elephants, lions, wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, buffalos, hippos, antelopes and the birds that traverse the wilderness of Nyerere. Break off for lunch and check in at your safari lodge and later in the day go on an evening game drive before returning to the lodge for the night.
Day 4: Nyerere national park – Boat ride and Nature walk
Another to explore the vast Nyerere national park on foot and sailing on the mighty Rufiji River. After your breakfast, you will go on a morning guided walking safari in company of an armed game ranger. Explore Nyerere’s fauna and smaller wildlife at close range. Return to your safari lodge for lunch and some downtime.
In the early evening, your safari guide will drive you to the river for a rewarding scenic boat ride on Rufiji River. Expect to see hippos, crocodiles and different water bird species like African skimmers, Africa fish eagle, kingfishers, herons, yellow billed storks among others. End your day back at the safari lodge.
Day 5-8: Domestic flight back to Zanzibar
Time to enjoy your beach holiday on the tropical paradise of Zanzibar. You will leave Nyerere national park behind. Take a domestic flight to Zanzibar where you will spend the next 4 days. There are a lot of exciting things you can engage in while in Zanzibar. From beach activities, Stone town tours, Jozani forest tours, to a marine park visit. You chose how to spend your Zanzibar holiday. Take of your safari boots and put on your flipflops or beach sandals.
Day 9: End of Safari
Depending on the time of your flight, you will be transferred to Zanzibar international airport. Marking the end of your 9-day Zanzibar and Selous (Nyerere) national park.
