Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

Welcome to Tanzania. Your tour guide will meet you at your hotel in Arusha after breakfast and drive you to Lake Manyara national park to start off your 10-day safari In Tanzania. You will take on a short visit to Mto wa Mbu village on your way to lake Manyara. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and cool down time as hot afternoon sun passes by. Later in the afternoon, you will go for a game drive to explore Lake Manyara national park before your return to your lodge for the night.

Day 2: Explore Lake Manyara national park

Full day of exploration of Lake Manyara national park. Game drives, walking safaris and a treetop walk are available options for activities for you to take park in today. As you explore Lake Manyara, expect to encounter elephants, wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, buffalos, tree climbing lions, hippos, waterbucks, bushbucks, leopards, hyenas, flamingos and many other bird species.

Day 3-4: Transfer to Serengeti national park

You exit Lake Manyara national park on the morning of day-3 and drive to Serengeti national park, home to the great migration. Explore this vast park on extensive game drives to the different areas of the park looking out for massive herds of wildebeests, zebras, elephants, gazelles, buffalos, giraffes, hippos, lions, cheetahs, leopards, spotted hyenas, warthogs, mongoose and many more. Hot air balloon safaris, walking safaris and Maasai community visits are also available in the Serengeti.

Day 5: Transfer to Ngorongoro conservation area

After one last game drive in Serengeti, you will exit the national park and transfer to the famous conservation area that is home to the intact Ngorongoro crater. You will embark on a game drive exploring areas outside the crater like the Ndutu plains and also take a detour to the famous Olduvai Gorge and get to know more about the early man findings at this site hundreds of years ago.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater drive and transfer to Arusha

After an early breakfast, your tour guide will drive you to Ngorongoro crater for an amazing game drive experience exploring the floor of the world’s largest volcanic caldera. The crater hosts over 25,000 animals and over 300 bird species, so expect to be thrilled as you drive around the crater sheltered by unbroken lush green walls. Enjoy the scenic views and expect to see the big 5 African animals; lion, black rhino, buffalo, elephants and leopard among many other animals. Return to the top of the crater, drive back to the lodge for check out and transfer to Arusha town where you will spend the night before your transfer to the Southern part of Tanzania.

Day 7: Flight to Nyerere national park

After breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, you will be dropped at the airport. For your domestic flight to Nyerere national park in the South East of Tanzania. Nyerere national park is the largest in the country. After it was curved from the vast Selous game reserve in 2019.

On arrival, your tour guide will pick you from the airstrip and drive you to your lodge. Today you will go for a boat ride on Rufigi River. Expect to see lots of hippos and crocodiles plus lots of water birds like the yellow billed storks.

Day 8: Nyerere game drive and transfer to Mikumi national park

Early morning rise for a pre-sunrise game drive in Nyerere national park. Here you will encounter lions, hyenas, leopards which are mostly active during the early hours of the day along side other animals out and about grazing and starting off their day. Return to your lodge for breakfast and check out with packed food for your lunch.

You will do another game drive in the mid-morning around Nyerere national park. Driving to different areas keeping an eye out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, impalas, elands, waterbucks, topis, bushbucks, monkeys, baboons, hippos and much more. You will stop for your picnic lunch and after proceed. Exit the park transferring to Mikumi national park arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight at your lodge in Mikumi.

Day 9: Explore Mikumi national park

Mikumi national park is one of the least explored parks. Giving visitors that true wilderness feeling in an un-spoilt wild environment. Take on a full day game drive exploring Mikumi expecting to see different animals. Like buffalos, lions, hyenas, impalas, warthogs, elephants, zebras, giraffes, and more. You can opt for a guided walking safari. Get closer to the nature in Mikumi or go on a community cultural visit.

Day 10: Transfer to Dar es Salaam – End of safari

After your breakfast, exit Mikumi national park and transfer to Dar es Salaam where you will be dropped at the Julius Nyerere international airport for your flight to your next tourist destination or back home.
